The hooded figure that held you captive
bent over to give you some water for your
thirst. A rather kind act in the bigger scope
of things: you tied to a chair wrapped in
a blinding darkness and a damp silence.
Your lips dry and cracked, your
body fighting cramps and numbness,
your neck threatening to abandon its
hold on your head and just losing it.
Your mind a full circle of thoughts.
You run over every moment of your
past, trying to find the clues that brought
you to this place of captivity. There is
nothing you can think of, significant
enough to result in your current disposition.
There is only the memories of happy and
sad times and events in your life that
left you breathlessly unconscious. Those
that knocked you out with their force.
The knife that was driven into your heart.
The twist of fate that left you weak and
vulnerable, unable to function. Love’s
head-on collusion had you drifting in a
coma for a while before rudely waking
you up to face the reality of truth.
Through cracked lips you asked the figure
to reveal himself to you, maybe it will
help you understand the reason why you
were the unlucky one. He honors your
request and shows himself:
